SPECIAL RULES AND CONDITIONS
1. Special Restricted sections are open only to those competitors who have not won a prize at any Eisteddfod.
2. All sections are own choice unless otherwise stated.
3. Copies of scripts, poems, or prose works being presented should be forwarded to the adjudicator via the convenor on the day of the eisteddfod.
4. Bible Readings can either be taken from the New Revised Standard Version or the “Good News” bible.
5. Entrants in Championship sections must compete in at least two other solo  sections other Championships not included.
6.
Entrants in the MacPAS Award and NIDA Scholarship  must compete in at least two other solo sections plus their age appropriate Championship
7. Poetry and Prose are to be of literary merit and should be presented by memory.
8.
Prepared Reading means the competitor must be seen reading from the literature during the performance.
9.
Entrants in the Group Drama section (3-8 performers) may perform from an existing script or they may present an original group devised piece. Maximum time limits apply.
10. Group Drama sections will be allowed a maximum 5 minutes set up time. Stage must be cleared at the end of the performance.
11. All time limits are maximums and competitors do not need to ensure that they reach these limits, except in Public Speaking sections. In Public Speaking Sections competitors may be penalised at the adjudicators discretion if they exceed the maximum time limit.
12. All readings and character in costume being presented in Championship or MacPAS sections must be different from those presented in other sections.
13. Copyright regulations prohibit us from:
a) returning any copies of published work.
b) Allowing any performances to be recorded (audio or video) unless written approval from the author and publisher of the work is provided.
14. Competitors may enter and perform only once in any one section
15. Competitors in the MacPAS NIDA Section will need to supply a copy of their Birth Certificate. Competitors must be between the ages of 12 and 15 years of age as at 1st January 2009
16. Age Limits Entry Forms should have age as at 30th October 2008 Except MacPAS NIDA Scholarship. ( see above)

NB. If you require copies of set work for Championship Sections please send a stamped self-addressed envelope with your entry.

9. Birth Certificate required with entry.
In this section the winner will receive a place at the NIDA Summer School to be held in Campbelltown during the January School Holidays 2009 3-5 days.
Competitors must enter and perform in their age appropriate Championship to qualify to enter the NIDA Section.
Heats will be required if a large number of entries are received.

Section 876: MacPAS SPEECH & DRAMA AWARD
(Open to all ages)
First Prize -  $600 plus  perpetual Trophy
Second Prize $300
Third Prize - $100


MacPAS Speech And Drama Award Special Conditions
1. Previous 1st prize winners may not enter again for the next 2 consecutive years.
2. Competitors must enter and perform in at least 2 other solo sections plus their age appropriate Championship.
3. Two pieces for Heats
One Piece, if selected, for the Finals.

For the Heats

The finalist’s chosen must present piece (c) on the Finals Afternoon November 2nd, 2008 for the final adjudication and presentation of the award.
